Multiple SIL Disability Support Workers:

  1. Are you looking for a valued and respected career in Disability Support work within the NDIS, at Lifeskills Plus? We have opportunities for new SIL team members with the skills required for supporting individuals with a disability.
  2. Maybe looking for a change of career, a new pathway supporting clients with a disability achieve their goals. We have opportunities available with full-paying traineeships in pursuit of enrolling and completing a Cert 4 Disability Services.
  3. Attributes of a great Disability Support Worker include respect, professionalism, teamwork, dignity, Integrity, Empowerment, and a fun outlook in helping someone with a disability.
  4. Qualities for a Disability Support Worker include a good level of communication, listening, and note-taking skills, along with the valued interpersonal, written, and speaking ability; helping to develop good working relationships with clients and peers.
  5. Full onsite and professional support is provided by our onsite qualified TAE training officer. Linking to a great RTO for enabling course delivery if you have undertaken or enrolled in the Cert 4 Disability Services. If you undertake a mature-aged Traineeship, work time to study and weekly support with your allocated Lifeskills Plus training officer.

COORDINATOR, SUPPORTED INDEPENDENT LIVING

Since 1991 Lifeskills Plus has been providing first-class services to people with disabilities in Mudgee, Gulgong, Rylstone, Kandos, and surrounding villages. HDAA accredited for the provision of services under NSW Disability Service Standards, Lifeskills Plus is also a registered NDIS provider.

We’re looking for an experienced person to lead and oversee the operations and potential further growth of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes. We currently operate 3 SIL homes across the region, operating 24/7 with another home potentially opening by the end of 2021.

The successful candidate will report to the CEO and be an integral part of our leadership team.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE…

  • Leading and managing a team of Disability Support Workers providing quality, person-centered care, and support to people with a disability living in SIL homes
  • Overseeing the development, delivery, monitoring, and assessment of client-related programs and Personal (individual)Care Plans
  • Ensuring evidence of outcomes is documented and available for compliance purposes
  • Managing staff rostering, recruitment, performance, development plans, etc…
  • Overseeing financial/budget management for SIL services
  • Ensuring adherence to all NDIS, quality, HR, WHS, and other standards and requirements
  • Promptly and effectively addressing client, family, and staff-related issues arising
  • Building and maintaining quality relationships with SIL clients, their families, community representatives, SIL staff, and others
  • Contributing to the Lifeskills Plus leadership team

Please note that this role will (often)require split shifts, night, and weekend work.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE…

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably supported by relevant qualifications or willing to work towards immediately
  • Sound knowledge of NDIS, quality (compliance), WHS, and other standards and requirements
  • Proven experience managing staff and budgets
  • An inclusive, collaborative approach
  • The ability to meet and balance the strategic and operational aspects of the role (a “hands-on”, flexible approach to work is a must!)
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels (clients, and their families, staff, Board members, community representatives)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven experience managing change
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to perform the physical tasks associated with the role
  • Current drivers’ licence
  • Willingness and availability for occasional travel and work outside standard business hours

High-level cleaner and Infection Control Extraordinaire

Since 1991 Lifeskills Plus has been providing first-class services to people with disabilities in Mudgee, Gulgong, Rylstone, Kandos, and surrounding villages. HDAA accredited for provision of services under NSW Disability Service Standards, Lifeskills Plus is also a registered NDIS provider.

We’re growing rapidly, so are looking to engage a new team member to ensure our community centre and SIL houses operate with the highest level of cleanliness and strict Infection control protocols always. We currently are looking for the next level passionate skilled and passionate cleaner with the highest level of enthusiasm, dedication to the tasks at hand. Keeping all our sites meticulously fresh and clean.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE…

  • Providing quality, centre and SIL home cleanliness and hygiene duties to our bases of operations
  • Contributing to the development, delivery, monitoring of the best up to date cleaning processes available. Tracking the selection of the materials for a safe and meticulous environment for cleaning and infection control.
  • Always Working within the WHS guidelines of a safe environment with the use of the appropriate PPE and warning signs, update notices.
  • Undertaking relevant administrative tasks, documenting activities, incidents etc.
  • Participating in training and education to increase your professional capacity.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE…

  • Experience in a similar role, supported by relevant professional knowledge of cleaning products, processes, WHS safety requirements.
  • Some familiarity with NDIS, quality standards & WHS standards.
  • A client-focused approach to providing environmental care and safety in the workplace, and a team-focused, practical, and flexible approach to cleaning work.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check will be required
  • Current First Aid Certificate will be required.
  • Sound written and oral communication skills
  • A reasonable degree of computer literacy including experience with MS Office for checklists, reports, and cleaning stock control items.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform the physical tasks associated with the role
  • Current drivers’ licence.
  • Willingness and availability for work outside of standard business hours on some occasions.
